Ah, OK. So a typical setup has Metacity -> Gnome whereas a Bery setup 
has Beryl -> Gnome.

So is the composition manager (Xgl. AiXGL) an 'additional' layer? And if 
so, where does is sit? Between the Window Manager and the DE?
