I'm afraid that 35mm slide scanners are very low on manufacturer's linux horizon. I ended up buying one that's WinXP based which has the capacity to scan 1 slide at a time as well as accepting negtive/positive film with up to 40 images. My film scanner, model PF-3650, however seems to be no longer manufactured.
I know of two slide scanners that can scan slides in batches by accepting straight slide projector cassettes: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/430671-REG/Pacific_Image_PS3650_PowerSlide_3650_3600dpi_Automated_.html http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/287975-REG/Pacific_Image_PS3600_PowerSlide_3600_Slide_Scanner.html Manufacturer link: http://www.scanace.com/en/product/ps3650ice.php Make sure to operate the scanner using professional scanner software: http://www.silverfast.com/show/version6-5/en.html This software is really good, designed with the full specs for any of their supported scanners.
