Or even better, show up in numbers today at :: December 8th at 1318 Centre Street NE, Suite 105 or call Calgary office - (403) 216-7777
This type of legislation , as it turn out, is very harmful to fair use, it totally eradicates it, it is extremely damaging to freedom of expression institutionalizing a guilty until prooven innocent type of reaction against content. The track record of this legislation is all about clobbering any content the major media corporations do not want, without recourse. It also brings, through it's child the DRM the ability of the controlling entities to shut down , deny usage of all content controlled by them automatically without recourse, try to think Canadian content , songs , speeches , music, literature being denied from Canadians simply by a flick of a switch. It happened south of the border, and i don't think putting The Canadian culture and content under the full controll of very powerful corporations south of the border. Note that, there is an open house TODAY at the Honorable Jim Prentice offices in Calgary, phone in your opinion, and even better, walk up to the office. This might be the last chance for Canadians to express themselves. Cheers Szemir " Calling in Your Regrets on the Canadian DMCA Call in or go in person when Industry Minister Jim Prentice conducts his open house in Calgary on Saturday. If you are in Calgary, the open house runs from 1:00 to 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 8th at 1318 Centre Street NE, Suite 105. If you can't attend, Cory has a great idea: Not in Calgary? NO PROBLEM! Plan on calling the Minister tomorrow or on dropping him an email, expressing your regrets that you can't attend the open house, but letting him know how you feel.
