Ok not directly Linux related, but still something:

In short, it is better to use the encrypted file system capabilities of Linux, 
since the hardware chips are not there yet ...
I wonder if other devices with encrypted (hardware) disks suffer from the same 
shortcoming ? Can anyone verify this chip in some laptops or other devices ??
