Two popular GUI based FTP programs on Linux are: - gftp - konqueror (it does more than just ftp: web browsing, local file management, samba/cifs so you can talk to your windows computers, file transfer over ssh, and more!)
Konqueror can be used under KDE, Gnome, XFCE, or any other window manager, don't let the 'K' fool you.
