Just in case anyone else runs into this.... I've switched over my desktop to KDE 4.1 and am now using Kontact for my email needs. I use IMAPS for my mail. The one issue I ran into that took a little digging to resolve is that when I sent messages, it would store the sent message in the "Local Folders / sent-mail" folder. Instead of the Sent folder in my IMAP account.
I looked in the usual place under accounts for this but found nothing relevant. It turns out this is a setting of the "Identity" you set up. You can re-point where the sent messages go by doing the following: 1. Settings (on the menu bar) 2. Configure KMail 3. Identities 4. Select the Identity in question (if you have more than one) and click Modify. 5. Advanced Tab. 6. Adjust the Sent Mail Folder value. Clicking the folder icon there should give you a nice listing of all the folders for the set up accounts. 7. Select the desired storage folder. 8 You probably also want to adjust where drafts are saved - this is the box below Sent Mail Folder on the current screen. 9. Click OK. 10. Click OK again. Now do a test (which is partially the purpose of this message... :) ). So, not too hard to track down, but not quite where you would expect it either.
