I heard about 3D acceleration in VMWare a few weeks ago... looks like it's now released! This is in VMWare Workstation (US$190... and a Windows license) and seems like it may allow you to play 3D windows games (or other 3D applications requiring DirectX) on Linux without WINE / CrossOver Games.
