Memory express has a small vantec usb card reader that does all the
usual formats (SD/MMC, MS, CF, SM/XD).  It also supports SDHC which is
nice for the newer SD cards.  I had a sandisk reader from 2004 that also
worked fine.  Most card readers are just USB mass storage devices which
work well under Linux.
