Since we seem to have a few Kubuntu users here, I need to ask about
FireFox:
* How do native widgets look under FF in Kubuntu 9.04? [In Kubuntu
8.10, all of the inputs stick out like a sore thumb...]
* Can anyone tell me how to run FF with GTK/Gnome widgets under Kubuntu
8.10?
I'm glad to hear 9.04 is shaping up! Can't wait! :)

I'm seeing a few mentions of Ubuntu 9.04 in the eeepc thread. Just thought
I'd throw in my two cents...
I installed the beta of Kubuntu 9.04 to a memory stick last night. Other than
the typical data transfer speed issues with USB (even 2.0), I was rather
impressed. The system seems very slick and fast. The boot up was still
faster than my hard disk install of Ubuntu 8.10 even with the mass data
transfer to/from the USB stick. To me, this means that a hard disk install
of 9.04 will be even faster. (It's supposed to be under 20 seconds to boot).
The Kubuntu interface is using KDE 4.2 and replaces a few of the old common
applications. Adept is gone, replaced by Kpackageit (I think that's what it
is called). So far it looks nice. The old network manager tool has been
updated to be a native KDE 4 application now and will also show you your VPN
connections. It comes with OOo 3.x so we finally get the current version
into the stable branch.
Speaking of stability, I saw NO bugs/crashes at all on my system while I was
playing with it.
The only thing stopping me from installing the beta to my desktop is that I
need my box to be more or less stable until after COSSFEST. But I'm very
tempted to do so anyways... :)
In all, I'm rather impressed with Kubuntu 9.04.
My thoughts.
