it would seem to me that the exec wouldn't have enough info to make a
choice on in this matter... yet.
My thoughts are that if you were to get together and put together a
plan, then go over that plan with the exec (email, in person,
whichever), THEN you would get more constructive feedback from the exec.
And if the answer were "no", for whatever reason, you already have a
plan to move ahead with outside of CLUG. I would just be careful about
committing resources that may or may not be available.
My 2 cents.

Ok, lets get this ball rolling, but would really Like Exec to be fully
in and behind it.
Cheers
While I do respect and honour what the exec stands for & what they do, I
would suggest that waiting for buy-in can potentially delay things &
quench the fire. Besides...what if the exec doesn't support it...does
that mean we can't do it?
I would suggest that we get something going...and if the choice is to
have it run under CLUG, then the level of support can be decided at that
point. If the exec doesn't want buy-in, then at least we have something
that can still be moved forward on.
I would realy like to start brainstroing & get ideas out there, then do
a more formal presentation to the community and see what happens.
Not everything we do has to be rubber-stamped & supported by the
exec...unless we are flying under the CLUG banner. ;-)
