I don't use the myth box anymore. I have an old Linksys WRT54G with OpenWRT bridging my media room with the rest of the network. I stream content from the Linux box in the basement (over Samba). In the media room I have a WD TV (one of the new ones with built in Ethernet) connected to the Stereo and TV over HDMI. Works like a charm.
The only change I plan to make is to build another router and use a 5Ghz radio as the 2.4 Ghz spectrum is getting crowded around here. Even still I can currently stream x264 720p content over the wireless bridge. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.9 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAkrjZw0ACgkQwRXgH3rKGfO0OACgqjykALDNa2KEKsjUVRp80nea V+cAoKaQE2fsrpK+FhTKPDemk96KBVgp =NlJ4 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [email protected] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca Mailing List Guidelines (http://clug.ca/ml_guidelines.php) **Please remove these lines when replying
