I use rs-232 to gain console access. voyage linux is good at building a debian base, though these days I pretty much just use OpenWRT x86 (again pre-loaded on a CF card).
The router boards I leave with the "router OS" as they are at client site's some of them quite remote. I have programmed them from an rs-232 connection but lately I have been using their Windows utility from a VM on my laptop. Once up and running they are configured via a web GUI. Most of the hardware in this space uses CF or SD cards for the OS. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.9 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iEYEARECAAYFAktYCIcACgkQwRXgH3rKGfOhAACdE18t5RGK2fvGQ9if/Ml4QdKL nW8AniuDdHPrI6gni4sBXBJvDOKJP5PG =VR4d -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [email protected] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca Mailing List Guidelines (http://clug.ca/ml_guidelines.php) **Please remove these lines when replying
