We were very KDE biased, and with any bias comes blinders. :-) Then Ubuntu came on the scene, it started getting recommended around here, and I suspect (though I have no numbers or proof) that Gnome is now more popular in our little microcosm. I would bet that the commenter was just speaking from his own little world view. I don't know of any valid stats on usage. Any numbers I've ever seen have been in places like a poll on Slashdot, which is entirely invalid because a) it's a count of people who like to answer polls, and b) it's affected by the same group bias/peer pressure seen within our own group. If there's one thing to be said for selling proprietary software, it's that at least it makes it easy to count. ;-) Ian
