I believe Royce was referring to the third movie in the series (released Jan 2011). While I remember the first movie to be a little "conspiracy theory over the top", I did not get that from the third.
"Zeitgeist: Moving Forward" is hyper critical of the money system, monetary policy, modern capitalism and rampant consumerism; coupled with engineered obsolescence on a planet with finite resources as being a recipe for complete collapse and decay of our societies ... physical, moral, psychological and emotional decay. I found the solutions interesting but I couldn't stop thinking, "not with this species and not anywhere in the foreseeable future". I think what Royce was getting at and what I too believe is that collective human ingenuity is capable to solving any challenge, open source software being one that this list should be able to related to.
