Most people don't actually care about local vs remote as long as it does what they want. This is all just plumbing. You push a button and it does what you want. The principle of TANSTAAFL means to me that there will never be a single thing or a single way of doing things. There are too many inherent drawbacks to each option. The only thing that changes are the ratios.
