Hi All, Having a challenge & hope someone can find the solution for me, because like a pine tree in last Sunday's wind storm...I am stumped at this point.
I recently connected an old HP LaserJet 6L to an external JetDirect box & added it to the network. I assigned it a static IP of 192.168.7.11 & looking at the details in WebJet Admin the other network stuff is fine. I can connect it via a Windows 7 machine, but I cannot seem to add it to Lisa's computer which is running Unbuntu 11.04. I have tried adding it through the applet & by going to localhost:631. I can add it & choose the drivers & all that good stuff. But when it comes to printing a test page it just hangs in the queue. I have tried a number of variations in adding it, but it doesn't seem to want to print. I can ping the IP from both Windows & Linux & it sees the IP address just fine with no lag on response times. I have tried to access the JetDirect via a browser, but all I get is 503 Service Not Available. I know it does print, because I have printed from a windows box & it recently printed from that same Linux box when installed as a local printer. Any ideas? _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [email protected] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca Mailing List Guidelines (http://clug.ca/ml_guidelines.php) **Please remove these lines when replying
