So you may be correctly guessing, i did get my firewall fixed :-)
also installed the latest EFW community (2.4.1) replacing my old EFW (2.2)
and, to my great satisfaction, backing up the settings from the old
installation, and importing them back in the new EFW worked very well. I was
done reconfiguring the new EFW 2.4.1 in like 20 seconds :-)

Now i replaced a very noisy 6G hdd, and figured i slap in a 3 gig SD card, EFW
2.4.1 would go on that one, but with a complaint, and without creating a swap
partition. not a good idea, if you don't have plenty of ram. I upped my ram
from 128M (2x64M) to 256M (2x128) so i braved it, bit then it choked on the
configuration phase, so i installed it on an 8G SD card instead. there where no
problems this time.

EFW 2.4.1 is a bit of a slow booter ... takes about 6 minutes on this celeron
machine, but that is no bases for complaining, i literally never reboot my
firewall :-)
