You're welcome. I'm glad it's worked out well for you. One of the things that annoys me about Windows is that the usual solution to any problem is "reinstall the OS". However, with a closed system you don't have much choice. I really like that with Linux you have ways to recover slightly broken systems. > … data seems to have been retained which is a HUGE bonus. Ubuntu and Debian have a good track record of being able to upgrade "in place" from one OS release to another. The only time I do a fresh install is when I get new hardware. I've had systems that I've upgraded in-place for 6-7 years.
