Question:

I'm experimenting more with the Intel CE4100. I'm not expecting a lot
from the
PowerVR SGX 535 GPU, but I guess I was hoping for a bit more.

Basically as a test app I'm drawing a 25x25 grid of 200x100 solid color
rectangles
into a larger Clutter group. At the same position and on top of each
rectangle, I'm
also placing some text. Maybe 200 chars or so. Then I'm just testing
scrolling and
zooming with some clutter_actor_animate() calls on the total group.

The performance is not bad. It looks really good zooming, but scrolling
around hits
the FPS pretty hard. Passable.

Ok, the real problem:

Instead of simply adding each colored rectangle and text actor to the
larger total
group, I make a small container group for each rect and text and then
add these to the
total group. Performance goes to hell quick.

Does anyone have any advice for scrolling large collections of groups
around? These
groups would become more complex in the future as well with more text and
more subgroups.

Thanks in advance,
Jake
