before people gets their hopes up and start asking how can they do the
same: the video linked is baded on experimental code based on an
experimental patch which is far from being complete and still contains
bugs and potential regressions. so, unless you're trying to fix GTK+ to
support offscreen redirection of drawables and events, it's not
something you can use.
