hi everyone;

here at OH we have thought about the versioning scheme of Clutter core,
and we decided to use the same one also used by Cairo; in short:

  - SVN will always have an odd micro number
  - releases will always have an even micro number

which means that after 0.5.0 the next developers snapshots will be
0.5.2, 0.5.4, 0.5.6, etc.

this versioning scheme will continue once the stable cycle has been
reached: 0.6.0 will be the first stable release, followed by 0.6.2,
0.6.4, 0.6.6, etc. as soon as we release 0.6.0 we'll branch off SVN
trunk to 0.7.1.

this helps in visually distinguishing the origin of the current Clutter
version (especially in bug reports); it also helps bindings and
integration libraries to target either releases or always SVN.

are there any objections?

ciao,
 Emmanuele.
