We've used Clutter on zylonite dev boards in the past but the OpenGL ES implementation there wasn't accelerated by a GPU but software with various processor specific optimisations (Im not sure if your referencing the same thing). Performance was better than say software Mesa on such a platform but it still wasn't that great - i.e not iPhone smooth.
