I do not use ports on Leopard as well and built special script to compile all required packages to run Clutter. It is attached, it does not perform download, this has to be done manually but compiles and i run Clutter from git without major problems.

Out of all you need to compile only for Clutter:
pixman, cairo, pango, glib, gettext, fontconfig, freetype, jpeg,

Hi,

I was hoping to bypass Macports altogether, because every time I try to
install something it ends in an error. For example, after trying to install
glib2 (which took so long I had to leave it running over night), it left me
with this:
Error: Target org.macports.activate returned: Image error:
/opt/local/bin/autopoint already exists and does not belong to a registered
port. Unable to activate port gettext.
Error: The following dependencies failed to build: gettext pkgconfig
Error: Status 1 encountered during processing.

I am getting similar errors with Macports. I would love to hear a
solution for this.

I have been trying to install clutter on my Mac quite some time, but I
have since given up. I have never got that
far as being able to install the clutter on the Mac because Macport
always fails with the very basic dependencies.
First the Macport system was totally non-functional with Leopard. The
situation has since improved, but it still fails with with all
g* dependencies. Macports feels like a quite broken piece of software
to me. Maybe it is the RTFM error, who knows.
