In gecko-mediaplayer we now have an option to choose an alternate backend. One of those alternates is fosfor which is a clutter-gtk / clutter-gst application and we can embed that application in a firefox window (the window managed by gecko-mediaplayer). As for directly including clutter into a plugin. I don't see why you can't, especially with the clutter-gtk wrapper.
