Try serving the mixers w/o the booze.  Works sometimes, especially if you include the stirrers and a cherry at the end of it.

That's a neat idea and we are doing a weekly happy hour on Fridays, but that still doesn't seem to solve the daily problem and a lot of 'alcoholics' aren't supposed to drink at all....be completely dry - so they don't start the cycle again, so that doesn't help with them.

I have one client that has sent a cocktail cart out at 4:30 every day for 24 years [that I know of, maybe longer].  Residents have specific orders and it includes wines and mixed drinks.  By the way, all private pay facility.

I've thought that a pseudo bar complete with bartender would be awesome....I've also seen a "happy hour" type activity, set up like a bar very popular.
