Group Guidance Please:

Please refer to writing below. Our facility's technical problems have now been solved as of yesterday. I'm still behind with data entry and printing of assessments that were completed on "paper" in a timely fashion. On 10/24/03 I faxed a memo to the MDS/OASIS Help desk to go on record with them regarding my issue and to go on record. I have yet to receive a response from them. I followed up with a voice message on 11/6/03.

I would greatly appreciate guidance in "who" to contact to "go on record" as to why the assessments were late. OR "words of comfort" to tell me it's okay with what I did as mentioned above and below! OR if I need to do anything else or contact someone else.

And if I remember correctly, if the PPS assessments are completed late, there is no default as long as the ARD was picked withing the assessment reference range? Correct?

Thank you so much for your input in advance!

Mary

Rena,

I hope you can guide me on this. I'm an MDS coordinator in California. Since the last week of September of this year, there has been intermitent problems with the computer system at my facility rendering my inability to input or print assessments. The assessments, done in a working copy form, have been completed in a timely fashion, but the inputing and the signing of the assessment at Rb2, VB2 and VB4 have been delayed. I have been able to transmit all assessments timely, although validation reports have shown the assessements were late. I did attached the signed working copies to the final computer signed copies and place all in medical record.

Today, the system is completely down and will not be "looked at" till next week.

My question, finally, do I need to contact the "state" regarding this issue. I feel like I need to go on record "somewhere".

I would appreciate your input in this matter.

Thank you for your time.
