Could anyone verify when a denial notice needs to be issued. I do have a copy of the SNF Manual for reference, but here are some of the specific scenarios I am questioning.
- If the facility has a non-certified bed… do you have to issue a denial notice for anyone going into those beds regardless of technical eligibility?
- If the facility has a non-certified bed… do you issue a denial notice if the patient wants placement in that area and is willing to waive their medicare benefit to get that placement?
- In the certified area of the building … do you issue a denial notice if the resident does not meet technical eligability?
