No. Hospice is a separate part a entity that bills part a on its own.
The resident does not have to be in a certified medicare a bed nor do
they have to meet any of the criteria as we know it for part a. hospice
has their own part a criteria in order to be able to treat the resident
under their benefits.

Subject: certification

Question ... Recently we have had a increase in the number of patients
who
come to hospital or from home who are hospice or made hospice after
hospital
eval.Sent to our unit and made hospice Is a certification needed? the
patient has not necessarily been treated 3 days in hospital so by the
way it
reads the MD can not say they need care from or as result of hospital
stay.
What is the answer? ThankYou S Clair
