We always use two assist with any mechanical lift. Usually
one person maneuvers the lift and one person has hands on
the pt or is moving things out of the way or into place.
If you only have one person and the lift fails, then you
have no one to help the pt to safety.

Surveyors are here, asking us for our policy for standing
lift
transfers. Our policy has always been one assist for a
standing lift,
two for Hoyer-type. What does everyone else do? And is
there a
reference I can cite? We use Medi-Man/ Medi-Maid lifts. I
have two
hours to get the answer. HELP!!!!
Thanks, Sally
