Any time you have lifts, other devices, you must have a policy to
support use of these. Were your CNA's trained to use the lifts? How
much assistance were they taught to use for each lift? Don't back
yourself into a corner without reviewing what staff has been trained on.
Also, the company that you bought the lifts from generally have
standardized policies that you can adjust to fit your facility.

Subject: Standing Lift Policy--Emergency Requst

Surveyors are here, asking us for our policy for standing lift
transfers. Our policy has always been one assist for a standing lift,
two for Hoyer-type. What does everyone else do? And is there a
reference I can cite? We use Medi-Man/ Medi-Maid lifts. I have two
hours to get the answer. HELP!!!!
Thanks, Sally
