Anyone who does a section of the mds and signs for this is signing for accuracy.  If a RN does a section and signs for this, then she is signing for accuracy of her section as well.  This is nothing new.  When the RN signs for completion at R2b, she is signing for completion only.

See MDS manual, Section AA9, pg. 3-11 and MDS manual, Section R2b, pg. 3-212.  Hope that this helps.

Subject: MDS signature

Just received information from facility staff that returned from a seminar (Louisiana Nursing Home Association) that as of 1-04, all disciplines (including the RN) will have to sign the MDS as accurate vs. complete..

Has anyone else heard this.
Thanks
