Nancy, The manual is too large to send through the listserve (100 pages), so try this: Go to www.state.pa.us/omap
When you get in, go to search and type in Resident Data Reporting Manual. Go to #12 and you should have the newest PA UMR manul from 9/17/03.
Your guidelines are under section 3 page 2.
My understanding is that if the resident is in your building at 12:01a.m. on the 1st of the picture date, they are included. However, the resident you spoke about was discharged out later on the 1st., so the d/c tracking removed them from the case mix. The residents are included if they are either in the building on the first of the case mix month or on a therapeutic leave (remember-no tracking form is done for therapeutic leave).
For those of you from Pa., this manual has guidelines for what the PA. UMR team will accept for coding on the MDS in the state of PA. only.

I have a question about the November 1st picture date, or any picture date for that matter. I had a medicaid resident discharged to the hospital on November 1st at 10pm. She did not show up on my CMI report for november 1. I called Myers and Stauffer and they said she shouldn't be on because she was discharged on Nov 1. I asked what the exact cutoff was (midnight of 11/1 isn't clear enough). She said to read the data manual, but it doesn't say. Can anyone from PA help me out here? Is it midnight of 10/31-11/1, or midnight 11/1-11/2? Please tell me where I can find the info. |
