To add to the other replies, you can count a blood transfusion given in the acute hospital stay IF it is within the 14 day window and IF it was NOT given during dialysis, in conjunction with chemotherapy or given during a surgical procedure or the immediate post-operative period. Exactly how long is the "immediate post-op period"?
