If therapy services are available at the SNF 7 days per week, then the definition of "daily" therapy for that SNF is 7 days per week.  If staffing problems interfere with 7-day per week therapy on rare occasion, I doubt that would be a problem from an FI review perspective.  However, if it happens often, I would recommend that the facility reevaluate its policy of providing "7-day per week" therapy, since it would seem that the facility is not able to consistently carry out its policy.

Would you please clarify 214.5 of the SNF manual please.  If services are available 7days a week but only provided 5 days a week due to being short staffed, are the guidelines for daily services still being met?
