This looks like a brand new definition of a
contracture. If you can do ROM it is not a contracture

Subject: Survey Says....re section
G
Just finished our survey, and I was cited for not
coding section G ROM accurately, and not coding contractions on 672. My
question here is...can I do a significant correction of a prior assessment to
correct section G, or can I wait until the next MDS. I am pretty sure
the answer will be do a correction, but the surveyor told me to wait until the
next MDS. Surveyors told me that even though the resident has passive
range of motion in the joint, because they can't do active ROM I need to
code as contracture. Thanks.
