You do count multi-vitamins in section O as a medication as well as any other medication that is approved through the FDA as a medication--unless used for prevention only. Herbal supplements are not counted.
Changing section O to not include meds used for prevention certainly has added confusion to coding the section. If artificial tears are used to prevent eye dryness, do not code it. What I find confusing is trying to identify whether I am using the med to prevent something--dryness , or to treat something, dryness. See what I mean?

Please clarify for me, section O
Are multivitamins included in the count of number of meds? Calcium supplements?
Eye drops used as a prevention are not to be included.brain freeze herewould that just be artificial tears/moisturizing eye drops or are there other drops in the preventative category? Thanks in advance.
