The Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003, signed into law by the President on December 8, provides historic opportunities to ensure that the Medicare program makes important advancements to meet the needs of the people it serves. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid looks forward to the challenges associated with implementing the many provisions of this legislation. The agency has received many questions about timeframes and plans associated with implementing this Act.
