Abrasions are by definition not pressure ulcers. It is possible that a cast
can cause a pressure ulcer, but you need to decide what kind of injury you
have. Is the injury due to the friction of the cast on the skin. If so, then
it is a abrasion not a pressure ulcer. If the injury is tissue death due to
prolonged pressure then you have a pressure ulcer.

There is difference of opinion on whether an abrasion from a cast edge is
a pressure ulcer. What does the group say. Thanks Very Much.
