Thank you so much. That explains it. Do you have
electronic specs for all combinations of MDS? If so, I would love
them.
Thanks again. Happy Holidays!

Subject: FW: AC Section QuestionHi Sandy,My name is Carrie O'Connell and I am a nurse and also work for a software vendor so hopefully I can help you a bit. I have the electronic specs, which I never knew existed until I started working for a vendor. It would have really helped to understand some things when in the field. Anyway: There is an optimal Submission requirement specific to record type AA8A=8. Here it goesAB3 through AC1y must be submitted according to one of three patterns:1) All items AB3 through AC1y are present2) None of the items AB3 through AC1y are present or3) a special AB5 pattern where all of the AB5a through AB5f items(facesheet items included on MPAF form) are present and with none of the other AB3 through AC1y items present. With the exception of the special AB5 pattern, either all of the AB3 through AC1y items must be skipped or all must be completed. If some are skipped and some are completed, then the record will be rejected. If completed each optional item must conform to the format Info.So my initial thought for you would be is to look to see if any data was filled out for questions AB3-AC1y? Remember that you might have software feeds from the demographic/registration data, so even though you might not have completed the items, the software might be feeding it over causing the problem.I hope that helps a bit and I can send you the electronic specs if needed and please feel free to write if you have questions.Happy Holidays,Carrie O'ConnellHeath Care Software-----Original Message-----

Subject: AC Section QuestionI am in information technologies and am testing our latest MDS software. I submitted a test MDS with AA8a=8, AA8b=blank. It got rejected because there was no data submitted for section AC. In the documentation that I have (it is old), it shows that AC is not a required section for that type of MDS. Has that changed? Your help is much appreciated.
