I would have your friend find out what resources they are referring to.  I would not pay the bill until I knew exactly what I was paying for.  If this resident is part a and then going to a ‘caid co-pay on the 21st day, I don’t know what they could be billing her for, unless she is in a private room and this is the rate difference between the semi-private and private.

The resources I am referring to is the SSI check minus the $30.00 & the C+ payment. I have a friend who has a loved one in a nursing home... the resident is MCR A and my friend has received a bill for "resources"... not the 20% co-pay. The resident is to be MCD after MCR... should my friend have this bill & if she pays it, should she expect a refund at some point when MCD goes into effect?  So exactly what is supposed to happen to his check from day one?

May I ask what resources you are talking about? Even through we do not bill individual services or items to Medicare Part A they should be listed on the UB92.

I have a billing question... are resources charged to a person when on MCR  A?  or just when MCD comes into effect?
