If there is no significant change of status and the resident has returned to their former baseline, then you would put them back on schedule for their next OBRA quarterly—92 days from R2b of last OBRA assessment, not from the 5Day assessment.

Subject: Resident went out for surgery

Intermediate resident went out for emergency sx to correct a strangulated hernia, and he was d/c with return anticipated; he was skilled for IV meds when he returned, so we did a Medicare 5 day assessment. Then the IV meds were actually d/c on day 6 he does not seem to have any other changes that would make a sig change necessary, do we put him back on a quarterly schedule from the ARD of the 5 day, or back on his previous quarterly schedule (I'm pretty sure I don't do this). Thanks.
