Right. There is an updated memo from CMS about physician extenders. It can be found
on the AANAC site. PA's are not allowed to sign certs or recerts. NP and CNS can
sign if they are not employed by the facility.

Subject: certification signature

Hi all, On the cert I have been asked if a physician assistant can sign *-
I had said "no" it needed to be the Dr. or nurse practitioner or clinical nurse
specialist.
Is this correct--PA's can't sign?
thanks
Karen
