Dear Colleague:

As facilities scramble to receive reimburseable dollars, billing for Part
B ancillary items remains a voluntary option for SNFs. But more and more
facilities want to start billing in order to bring in more revenue.
However, they remain confused about the regulations and criteria that
govern Part B billing, as well as the mechanics of submitting the claim.
During this audioconference, expert speakers will show you how to break
down the complexity and provide a recommended method for SNFs to manage
the Part B billing process.

Join us on Tuesday, February 24, at 1:00 EST for the audioconference,
"Medicare Part B: Billing beyond the basics" to get full reimbursement,
where experienced faculty will offer you answers to: what is billable,
when to bill and how to bill. These questions range through all areas of
billing but the most concentrated area from which questions arise is
ancillary billing. What costs should be included on the UB-92 or 1500?
There are also a lot of questions that arise from the therapy-side of
things regarding conversion tables, timed units, etc. We will take the
mystery out of billing for part B and go beyond therapy billing.

Subject: Part B Regs. for Therapy Time

I need information on the regulations for Therapy billing of time on Part B. I'm the RNPC here as well as RAC-C and am in charge of the RNA Program as well as the Restorative Maintenance Program. Therapy's FRD states there are no regs. regarding the therapy dept. using RNA time spent with residents and billing part B. I don't think this is appropriate and can not find information on this subject on the CMS site. Can anyone tell me where I can find the regulations on Part B Billing of time therapy spends with residents and who can provide the time billed? I know that we use RNA's time spent on Rehab Low RUGS but is it appropriate to use RNA time for Part B billing?
