If you read this section, you will find numerous references to the differences between billing Part A vs Part B.

There are also many references on the CMS Medlearn site.  You can also check your states' standards of practice regulations regarding who licensed therapists can supervise and under what circumstances.

Hi Gloria.  Why don't you try the RAI Manual starting on page 185 through 189 of Chapter 3.  Be sure to review the August revision pages because most of this section was revised last August.  I think this will give you the answers you are looking for.

I need information on the regulations for Therapy billing of time on Part B. I'm the RNPC here as well as RAC-C and am in charge of the RNA Program as well as the Restorative Maintenance Program. Therapy's FRD states there are no regs. regarding the therapy dept. using RNA time spent with residents and billing part B. I don't think this is appropriate and can not find information on this subject on the CMS site. Can anyone tell me where I can find the regulations on Part B Billing of time therapy spends with residents and who can provide the time billed? I know that we use RNA's time spent on Rehab Low RUGS but is it appropriate to use RNA time for Part B billing?
