We used to do drug holidays in the olden days, but no more. For us it was every Sunday. I am talking about the very olden days. There is a reg that hypnotics need to be given for  no more than 9 days I think. Then reassessed. I will look for the reg. We don't use them (hypnotics) in our building very often and the docs will order "for 5 to 7 days prn to establish sleep pattern, then reassess."
