We run into that fairly often here..........we don't bother to do the reentry and discharge a few hours later, reasoning that she won't show up on our census for that day anyway nor will we charge for that day.

Subject: Discharge and Reentry

Hi,

We have a resident who was sent to the hospital, stayed for a few days, returned to us, was only here a few hours,  was sent back to the hospital and readmitted to the hospital for about a month. She came back to us yesterday. Do I need to do an reentry and discharge return anticipated for the day she came back from the hospital for a few hours and was then sent back?

Thanks,

Dorothy
