So are ours and we have never had a
problem. Per our state regulations, the MD has 30 days to sign telephone
orders unless it is a schedule II narcotic, then it is 48-72 hours.

I have a question for the
group:
In order to code section P
of the MDS the RAI manual states therapy must be ordered by a physician:
Must the physicians order
be a valid order (valid meaning: signed and dated) before the information is coded on the MDS?
Thank you,
Denise Pizzino
Ours are usually telephone orders
written out with the specifics of the therapy and the doc is in house within 48
hours and signs them. So we count the order.
