Brenda, If a resident is admitted for rehab, not able to fully participate due to severe fatigue and have had IV meds in hospital; would you deliver mins in P or project in T for the 5 day MDS?

You can likely skill this resident for IV meds for the flap. Are you doing dressing changes? If you set your 5 day and 14 day ARD’s right, you can capture the IV meds and do good documentation on progression of wound, any s/s of infection, etc. and skill this resident. I would use an ARD of any of the days 1-5 for the 5 day. For the 14 day, I would count back and likely use day 11 and you can again capture the IV meds and you will be okay without having to worry about therapy, restorative, etc.
If you will email me privately with your admission date, etc. I will help you set up your ARD’s if you need this.

Just got a Med A from a rehab facility has been in hosp since 11/26/03. Just recently had a flap over a prior decub on the 8th. Is in bed rest for 3 weeks. Has o2, fc and last received IV on 1/11/04. Administrator wants me to skill her for the 3 weeks until weight bearing status changes. I can get 1 Restorative program, obviously rom for 3 week. What do you all think? There are no dressings to the flap-staples intact and open to air. Is it possible to skill her for 3 weeks and for what? I am so use to therapy that when a Med A comes in with no therapy orders I lose it! Lisa
