You have R2b+ 31 days to transmit quarterlies and full assessments (Medicare), Vb4 +31 days to transmit comprehensive assessments. See page 5-3 of the RAI manual.
You do not get default rate for late transmissions. The default rate is given if a facility is late setting an Assessment Reference Date (the ARD is after the assessment window for the required assessment). It is not acceptable to set an ARD within the assessment window if the assessment window has past. If you discover that you missed an assessment and it is past the window, including grace days, you should set the ARD as soon as possible and you will be charged with the default rate for that window up until the ARD. From the ARD , you can bill for the RUG rate of the assessment completed. See page 2-40 of the RAI manual regarding late or missed assessment criteria and default rate.

Subject: Question on Billing/Rugs/Date Transmitted
Is it 30 days from the ARD that we have to transmit, otherwise we get the default rate. Or is it 30 days from the R2B date. Can someone clarify for me. Thank you.
