It was probably my previous message that you are referring to. I count Psychiatrist
visits in section p7 Physician's visits--but Psychologist visits cannot be counted in
P7. My original email was about section P1be "Psychological Therapy." I do not code
evaluations or visits to check for med adjustments etc as therapy. I only count
minutes for actual psych group therapy or psych individual therapy visits.

Subject: RE: Section P Psychology Therapy
I picked up on something from a previous message: Do not count Psychiatrist
visits to residents who are evaluated and usually provided with medication
intervention. I would like to hear from you as to whether you are coding your
Psychiatric visits in section P. We are counting them - they are not "therapy" in any
sense of the word - their is discussion with the resident by the psychiatrist, but it
is usually to collect data for treatment, usually pharmacology. Now I am thinking we
should not be counting the visits. Any comments on this would be appreciated. Thank
you in advance.
